Our team attended the 25th Anniversary of the CEF Excellence Awards at the Crown Plaza, Belfast on Thursday 3rd October.
We are absolutely delighted to have picked up ‘GB & ROI Fit-Out project of the year’ for our very unique, 5* Hotel fit out project in Knightsbridge, London – The Emory.
The Emory is London’s first ‘all suite’ 5* hotel, offering 56 suites, an exclusive penthouse and a plethora of luxurious amenities. It stands at the intersection of contemporary craftsmanship, with the building designed by the late Lord Richard Rodgers and within, excels intuitive hospitality at the epicentre of London’s cultural scene. Its suites frame iconic views, from the city skyline to the sweep of London’s Hyde Park.
The hotels suites range in size from 5,92ft² to 3,229ft² and feature floor to ceiling windows overlooking Hyde Park.
Piperhill worked with multiple world class interior and architectural designers, with each floor being overseen by different designers, namely André Fu, Pierre Yves Rochon, Alexandra Champalimaud, Remi Tessier, Patricia Urquiola and Rigby & Rigby.
Managing the design concepts of six international designers brought its own unique challenges. The works were fast paced, with multiple changes to designs during the process which couldn’t impact the programme. As part of a progressive handover, works began on floors 7 and 8; these suites were then occupied whilst works continued on other levels, allowing the hotel to start generating revenue.
We had five dedicated Site Managers, each assigned to a particular designer and overseen by our full-time Design Manager. Our team worked on-site 7 days a week to meet programme requirements.
The successful completion of this unique project demonstrates Piperhill’s ability not only to deliver a luxury fit-out of the highest quality, but also in managing complex design concepts of multiple leading designers, ensuring the hotel could generate revenue at the earliest point while works continued, without impacting guests’ experience or hotel operations.
In addition, Piperhill continue to specialise in restoring classic Grade II period townhouses alongside modernising Prime Central London Hotels as we have illustrated here at The Emory, often whilst working in live environments and phased handovers.
We have built a portfolio including London’s most exclusive addresses. We pride ourselves in having the ability to seamlessly collaborate with leading architects and interior designers whose creativity we bring to life with exceptional craftsmanship and unrivalled professionalism for the most discerning clientele.
A huge thanks go to Construction Employers Federation (CEF) and the judges who had an incredibly difficult task, in firstly shortlisting the finalists and then having to pick a winner; with such a high calibre of entries and talent displayed on the night, we are extremely proud in what we have achieved!
