Piperhill was delighted to deliver a child friendly construction awareness workshop to the local Kilkeel Playgroup, the current users of Kilkeel Leisure Centre who have been temporarily relocated during the refurbishment works.
Our construction team hosted an engaging and interactive “show and tell” session focused on personal protective equipment (PPE) and the importance of staying safe near construction sites. The children had the opportunity to learn about essential safety measures, including the purpose of hard hats, high visibility clothing, and protective boots.
As part of the session, the team introduced key “Do and Do Not” safety signage, shared a photograph of our Site Manager to help familiarise the children with construction roles, and explained why correct PPE is always required on site. To make the experience both educational and enjoyable, the team provided photographs of diggers and generously donated children’s high visibility vests for dress up activities.
To conclude the visit, Piperhill left construction themed colouring sheets along with large A1 drawing paper, encouraging the children to creatively explore what they had learned.
