The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity is the only charity that provides emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to the construction community and their families. A crucial element of their strategy is to provide a wide range of free and widely available pro-active resources to support the industry.
Last week, members of the charity visited our project at Belfast International Airport to carry our various talks to our site team. We are hugely appreciative of their efforts in educating our team and for promoting this positive cultural change within our industry.
Every working day, two construction workers take their own life. The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity’s aim is to educate everyone in the industry to recognise the signs and symptoms of our colleagues that are suffering from stress, anxiety or depression and start the conversation to assist in their recovery.
The charity has a 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline offering free and confidential support and advice on a huge variety of wellbeing issues. Their advisors provide a listening ear and are able to signpost to additional support where necessary. The caseworkers specialise in providing holistic support and working with third party organisations to ensure that callers get the support they need to access all of the possible help available.
